We are currently seeking Ambassadors: friendly, energetic, initiative-taking people that will serve as representatives, and help promote QWOC+ Boston events to their various groups and communities. This will ensure that we stay actively inclusive of QWOC+ Boston members of all races, ages, genders and nationalities. We hope to establish a strong board of activists that will help steer our organization. If you feel strongly about serving the needs of a particular group, we would really love to speak with you. This is a low-key, fun and exciting one-time commitment. And, let’s face it… an awesome way to meet people. Volunteers at QWOC+ events enjoy a variety of perks depending on the nature of the event; free drinks, admission, and 'occupational flirting' are a few. If you've got a sanguine personality and enjoy meeting and conversing with new people, or even if you're an introverted newbie that freaks out at the thought of attending meetup events alone, this is the position for YOU!
Many of our volunteers and ambassadors are veteran volunteers - our resident Event Planner, for instance, started out as an excited participant that loved the event so much that she wanted to do more. It doesn't matter if you've never volunteered or been a part of a not-for-profit group/organization before; all you need is a diversity conscious attitude, a pow wow with our head organizer, and a friendly countenance.
