SPECTRA ENTERTAINMENT

If you haven't heard already, Spectra Entertainment Group, QWOC+ Boston's new resident event planning and promotions company, is now officially launched. Friend her on Myspace, Facebook, and Going.com.

We thought a piece of the pie in queer night life and event planning would be a cool and easy way to continually fundraise for QWOC+ Boston, sustain the quality of events we routinely put on, and most importantly, keep the afterwork socials free. We also believe that a stake like this will ensure our influence in maintaining diversity in nightlife -- an area we all feel could use some work.

This business venture should encourage other members of the community to get involved in the planning of larger events. Whereas, Spectra will always donate a % of her profits to QWOC+ Boston, the rest will be shared among the partnering promoters and community groups. We think this will be fun, political, social, a way for people to make some extra money for some new jeans, and also, yet another avenue for other non-profit groups to fundraise for their own causes.

****The Spectra Entertainment Group is currently interviewing for a few good resident queer-friendly DJs, Graphic Designers, Event Planners, Promoters and other Staff.****
