Summer 2008 Interns
Job Requirements
Successful applicants will be personable, motivated, responsible, and self-starters, able to work with minimum direction. Applicants should also have proven strong interest in race, sexuality, and community-building. Advanced undergraduates working towards a degree in writing, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field are encouraged to apply. However, we will consider applications with various academic backgrounds provided they have the necessary skills and passion about the social justice issues relevant to our work.
Individuals who feel they can make a positive contribution to QWOC+ Boston by bringing a different combination of skills are also encouraged to apply.
Time and Compensation
We are now accepting applications for part-time summer interns. There is a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week for twelve weeks. Hours are flexible, and most work can be done remotely. However, the intern will be required to meet with a QWOC+ Boston organizer once per week for evaluations and status briefings (lunch/dinner will be provided). Attendance is also required at special events and meetings (scheduled in advance). We are willing to work with a university to arrange academic credit. At this time all our internships are unpaid, volunteer positions.
