From a QWOC in Japan: “I have learned that I cannot do it on my own and that as much as I perhaps took credit for what I knew and what I learned, I realize that I always had a constant source of support to fall back on. Now that these friends – my family – are many miles away, I am left to navigate this world, for the first time, as a true outsider.”

New England’s second annual QWOC WEEK (August 2nd-9th), a multicultural pride festival produced by Queer Women of Color and Friends (QWOC+ Boston), will feature local LGBT Visual Artists of color as part of week-long art exhibition, entitled “OUTside the Box: a Queer People of Color Visual Artist Exhibit.”
Emerson College has donated their beautiful Huret and Spector Gallery for these artists to show and sell their works of fine art, print, photography, high-quality fine crafts, and original art including graphics/drawings, jewelry, textiles, mixed media, sculpture and wood.
Please join us on Monday August 3rd for the Opening Reception of this unique exhibition, and be part of the week-long celebration of diversity within Boston’s queer community.
